Alternate name: Vials

Potions are a fantasy trope where they hold magical or alchemical substances that have miraculous effects such as instant healing, curing any ailment, giving resistance to elements, and even more spell-like effects such as creating a magical barrier around the one who gulped the potion.

Occasionally the potions may hold something more realistic, such as plain water, wine, or poison.

Potions are usually shaped like a pear (like laboratory flasks) with flat bottom that allows them to stay upright.

The first Potions video game was released in 1980.

Blizzard, Brøderbund and U.S. Gold published most of these games.
