Circadian cycle

Other (objects, etc.) theme

Day and night cycles on their own outside of plot, location, or triggered events, possibly influencing NPC activities accordingly.

Alternate name: Day/night cycle

Preferably not if this is tied to level/mission changes and does not progress naturally by itself, a note should be added if it does not.

Editor note: Circadian cycle technically refers to primarily biological cycle tied to the dark-light cycle rather than the dark-light cycle itself, so this should be renamed.

The first Circadian cycle video game was released in 1979.

Bethesda Softworks, Nintendo and Deep Silver published most of these games.
