Drone

Unlike helping pets or other companions, these do not exhibit any will of their own (in-game or in the background material) beyond their simplistic programming and usually do not offer any method of communication beyond what is required of their set task.

Most commonly these are some form of attack satellites that float about the player and either freely attack any hostile forces or fire at the same target the player is firing at.

In rare cases this may be a non-machine drone, Magical Technology for instance, or just Magic. Regardless of its nature, if it acts like a drone then it is.
