It is not completely unheard of of rich people begging, though often done for comic effect where the rich person does not want to soil his own hands in actual work and rather would beg for others to grant him wealth that is his or her birthright.

In games player is often able to give some money to these fellows, occasionally such generosity actually does something besides reducing your wealth.
