Ghouls are usually associated with the undead, but their appearance and pretty much everything related to them varies wildly with the setting they're depicted in. Often have great agility and speed compared to many other undead, but this is not a requirement.
In folklore it's a monster that devours human flesh and often dwells in graveyards.
Common traits:
* Deformed human or humanoid shape
* Eats human flesh
* Shares traits with undead even if they may not be undead themselves
* Mindless or shares similar intellect with zombies
Uncommon traits: (either don't occur often or are not mentioned)
* Unlike other corporeal undead, ghouls often never were living to begin with, which makes their status as undead rather perplexing or unique-ish.
* Perpetuating cannibalism transforms one into a ghoul
