The first video game about Lava was released in 1985.

Yacht Club Games, Mojang and Robot Entertainment has published most of these games

Amazingly absolutely no(?) game considers the immense heat emanating from lava nor the poisonous gases nor the ash released in conjunction with it, removing a significant quantity of danger actually associated with it. Thus only actually touching lava is dangerous, not proximity to it nor inhaling the gases. If one bothers to see documentaries related to lava, you can see the researches wearing full asbestos suits, and that does nothing to protect them if they touch lava, so it's only to protect them from the simple dangers of proximity to it.
