The first video game about Lightweight Java Game Library was released on September 18, 2004.

Mojang, Fractal Softworks and Sega has published most of these games

Handles audio via OpenAL and graphics via OpenGL.

LWJGL is NOT a game engine itself (no more than DirectX or SDL is) as it does not provide basics for game logic (pathfinding and AI), map/level functionality, or similar.
