Name variations: drag & drop, drag-and-drop

This is as opposed to selecting from a complicated menu where the object will go (if there even is multiple choices).

Common simple interactions are dragging equippable items to their slots, dragging anything to quickslots, dragging objects out of the inventory (thus dropping them), and so forth.

Extremely common in pointer driven interfaces and even more so in case of touchscreens.
